"....rising out of the sea in soft and billowing folds, were
green hills draped in swirls of drifting fog. They seemed incredibly
lofty and massive, those hills -- a backdrop for a dream sequence....
alone and wonderstruck, I felt more alive than I had ever felt in
my life....I was a long, long way from home, songs of praise knocked
in my head, and I felt a gust of exhilaration." -- E. B. White

A
whole lifetime could be spent exploring the coast of British Columbia.
290 mile-long Vancouver Island provides a barrier to the open
Pacific and forms the Southern part of the Inside Passage. On
the Southern edge, the Sunshine Coast and Desolation Sound are
much loved crusing grounds with many wonderful anchorages and
sights. Travelling further North, towns and villages become farther
apart and wilderness begins to take over. This coast has been
the home of the Haida, Kwakiutl and Tlingit, and all of the totemic
animals seen in the art and culture of many tribal groups for
over 10,000 years.
All
of our voyages in B.C. begin or end in Seattle or Washington's
San Juan Islands.
