(Continued
from Good Stories) fauna and fishing boats from a pleasant 1,000'
altitude all the way up. The floatplane made a majestic swoop into
the harbor and we motored right up to the waiting Carmelita with
Peter and Chef/1st Mate, Mark, on board. We went from one memorable
form of transportation to the next.
Our
three days on the Carmelita were incredible. Rowing, swimming,
playing our multitude of instruments and singing on the fantail
were just a few of the activities we partook in as the stunning
scenery jutted out from all angles. We alternated between hiking
on the gorgeous and rugged beaches and hills and being underway
around a miriad of islands. Hungry? Hot
appetizers on the foredeck. Beverages? Enough to list the
ship. I felt we ate all day and had to go ashore to hike just
to make room for the next incredible meal! There was plenty of
social room in the salon and more than adequate areas for private
conversations.
It was far more pleasant and intimate for our group than on a
larger cruise ship. I couldn't think of a better way for my family
to get reacquainted, socialize, and reminisce than on this beautifully
restored vessel. And then there was the interaction with Captain
Peter and the crew. We learned to navigate, man the helm,
weigh anchor and poke around in the engine room, much to the delight
of this crowd! My father called it the most memorable "Boy's
trip" ever and can't wait to go again. His only remorse was
that the trip wasn't long enough. (When are they ever?:))
Thank
you again for providing the perfect chemistry for our get-a-way:
Wonderful location, romantic vessel,
attentive crew, and exciting discoveries! It's time to book another
adventure soon!
Cordially,
Henry Brown
