Evans
Maritime was founded in 1994 by Peter and Melissa Evans. Together,
they are proud to continue the legacy of the M/V Carmelita and look
forward to creating programs and cruising opportunities on the waters
of Puget Sound and British Columbia. A licensed skipper for nearly
fourteen years, Peter is currently serving as President of the Laird
Norton Company. Melissa hails from a long line of seafaring mariners.
She has journeyed the globe working in the travel industry and is
currently involved in local nonprofit organizations. She holds degrees
in Anthropology and Urban Planning and Design.
Peter
and Melissa live in Seattle with their children, Perry and Beatrix.
Reed
McGuire will be the primary
skipper during the 2004 season. He is also the main point of contact
for reservations and trip itineraries. He holds a current 100 ton
inland masters certificate with the International Convention on
Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers
(STCW) endorsement. Reed has descended from commercial fishermen
in both his mother and father's families and has traveled the world
courtesy of his uncle (Sam). After a twenty year career in Naval
Aviation, Reed "retired" to live in West Seattle with
his wife Susan. Not long after meeting Peter and Melissa (and Carmelita)
a new career on the water presented itself and as they say... the
rest is history.
Evans
Maritime, from time to time, employs guest chefs and alternate,
licensed skippers. Contact us about
when you would like to cruise and we can determine who will be
aboard with you as your shipmates.
